Automated checks

  • Length: current title splits across both fields without loss.
  • Restricted characters: none detected.
  • Catalog SEO terms: garlic (13x), press (4x), ginger (3x), mincer (3x), built (2x).

The 75-character requirement applies to all categories except media. If this ASIN is a book, music, video or DVD listing, the length check above does not apply to it.

The split is a length-based draft, not an AI rewrite. Review wording, variation attributes, claims and category requirements before publishing.

Analyzer coverage

What the analyzer checks automatically

  1. 01Reads the live catalog title, brand and image for the ASIN, so the check runs against what Amazon actually publishes today.
  2. 02Measures the title against the 75-character Item name limit and reports how far over it runs.
  3. 03Splits the title at a word boundary into an Item name draft and a 125-character Item highlights draft, and flags anything that will not fit either field.
  4. 04Confirms the brand survives the split, since a brand pushed past character 75 disappears from the field Amazon indexes hardest.
  5. 05Flags restricted characters and lists the terms the catalog repeats most, so the rewrite keeps the words the listing already ranks on.

Why the 75-character limit is now urgent

Amazon generates its own rewrite for titles longer than 75 characters and applies it if nobody objects within 14 days. That means the split between Item name and Item highlights is being decided for catalogues that are not watching, and the brand name is often what falls past the cut. Checking a title here shows how far over it runs, where the break lands, and whether the brand survives it, while you still have the option of writing the split yourself.

What it cannot see

Nothing here is written to your catalogue: this measures and previews the split, and you decide what goes where.

Title Analyzer questions

What is the Amazon title character limit?

The Item name field is 75 characters including spaces, and Item highlights carries a further 125, for 200 in total. The 75-character rule applies to every category except media.

What happens if my title is longer than 75 characters?

Amazon produces a recommended rewrite and applies it after 14 days unless you action it in Review Listings Changes. Titles over the combined 200 characters lose the surplus entirely.

What belongs in the Item name and what in Item highlights?

The brand and the attributes a buyer uses to choose between your variations belong in the 75 characters. Materials, use cases and comparison detail support the decision rather than making it, so they belong in the 125.
