Calculation method

What the calculator handles automatically

  1. 01Reads sell price, Buy Box and product dimensions from Amazon data.
  2. 02Requests current referral and FBA fee estimates for the ASIN, in the marketplace you chose.
  3. 03In the United States, adds the size tier and an inbound cost from package size and weight. Amazon's other marketplaces set both on their own rules, so outside the United States neither is shown and inbound belongs in the other costs field.
  4. 04Subtracts Amazon fees, other costs and COGS from the sell price.
  5. 05Returns seller proceeds, net profit, net margin and an optional quantity forecast.

Enter an ASIN and the calculator reads sell price, Buy Box, dimensions and size tier from Amazon, then estimates referral and FBA fees, inbound cost, net profit and margin.

Why sellers calculate Amazon revenue before they buy

Most products that lose money were losing it at the purchase order, not in the advertising. The gap is usually the size tier: a package a centimetre over a threshold carries a larger FBA fee on every unit for the life of the product. This reads the dimensions and weight Amazon actually holds for the ASIN, works out the tier, and returns fees, profit and margin per unit before you commit to a batch or agree a supplier price.

What it cannot see

Referral and FBA fees come from Amazon itself, at the current price, in the marketplace you choose. Size tier and inbound cost are United States rules, so outside the United States neither is applied and your own inbound cost goes in the other costs field. Storage, returns, coupons and advertising are not included, so this is the ceiling on your margin rather than what reaches your bank account.

Revenue Calculator questions

How accurate is this Amazon revenue calculator?

Referral and FBA fees come from Amazon's own fee estimate for that ASIN at its current price, so they are as accurate as Amazon's classification of the product. Cost per unit and extra costs are yours to enter, and the profit line is only as good as those numbers.

Why is my margin lower in Seller Central than here?

Because a real month includes storage, returns, coupons, promotions and advertising, and this calculates one unit at the current price. Sellers who compare the two usually find the gap is advertising, not fees.

Do I have to enter my cost per unit?

No, but without it the result shows what survives Amazon's fees rather than profit. The tool says so instead of calling an unknown cost base profitable.

What this connects to

The tool found a problem. What comes next?

Share the result with UNITIX and we will tell you whether the constraint is advertising, listing conversion, competition, or account structure.
